Plot Development Sort is a hands-on activity designed to enhance students’ understanding of plot development.

Using the blue activity cards, students determine whether each scenario represents the orientation, complication, or resolution of a story. They then place the card in the appropriate section on the Plot Development Sort mat. Students continue until all blue cards are placed correctly on the mat.

For an added challenge, the pink activity cards encourage students to match scenarios that belong to the same story. By shuffling the cards, students can place the correct orientation, complication, and resolution cards on the mat, showcasing their understanding of plot progression.

This activity can be completed individually or in small groups.

For optimal durability, we recommend printing this resource on cardstock. Both full-colour and low-colour printing options have been provided.
