Explore predictions during probability investigations with this easy to implement, one-page probability worksheet.
Students will first predict the likelihood of all eight fruit names being selected in eight tries when the name is returned after each selection. They will then conduct the experiment at their desks using the cut away cards at the bottom of the worksheet. Once they complete the task and determine the final results, they can reflect on whether their prediction was accurate.
There are three versions of the task depending on how long you wish it to take. The first version includes five cars, second includes eight and the third includes ten.
Choose to extend students by having them create a graph of the results tally.
