Probability Colour is an engaging set of worksheets that will challenge students to consider the probability that they will see, do or eat something on the day that they are completing the worksheet.

Using two different colours, as outlined on the worksheet, students will determine if the image is something that they will or won’t see, do or eat. The images are bold and for many the answers are clear; however, some are open to interpretation providing an opportunity for students to articulate their reasons why they believe they will or won’t see, do or eat something. For example, a student may notice a book in the classroom with a fairy on the front cover or have an exciting event planned for that afternoon that is out of the ordinary.

Probability Colour is a low preparation set of worksheets; however, it is guaranteed to pack a powerful educational punch as students engage with the content and discuss the likelihood of things happening. For younger students, enlarging the activity to A3 size may be a consideration.
