Designed to reinforce understanding of numbers beyond 10 000, the game includes interactive cards featuring real-life locations, like a shopping mall, where students decide if the location can hold more or less than 10 000 people. Additional cards with abacus models challenge students to recognise, write and say numbers over 10 000. Please note that versions with and without the matching digits are included. The version with digits can be used as answer pages or cut up and used as game cards for students who require support in interpreting the abacus images. Looking for a way to extend your students? Instead of them writing and saying the number represented on the abacus cards, have them write and say the number that is 10, 1000 or 10 000 more or less!

No time to play the game? Simply provide each student with a recording sheet and print multiple copies of the cards. Students can flip a card and record their response on the worksheet, demonstrating their understanding independently.
