If you’re looking for an engaging and fun way for your students to increase number awareness, this is the game for you.   In Roll a Bug, students will take turns rolling a die. Using the key, they will then select a bug piece to cover on their board. If students roll a number but have already used that body part, they will lose a turn. The winner is the first student to complete their bug or with the most bug pieces covered at the end of the playing time.   With high-colour, low-colour and black-and-white versions available, there is sure to be one that will suit your classroom needs. Designed to be used repeatedly, it is recommended to print the materials for this resource on thick cardstock for longevity. The bug body parts must be cut out before students play the game. If you do not have the preparation time to complete this cutting, the black-and-white version can be used with students colouring the parts of the bug that they roll (multiple copies would need to be printed because a new sheet would be required for each new game).   Optional: Attach Velcro to the bug pieces and the game board so that pieces can be attached during play and will not fall off or move.   It's time to roll a bug!
