Roll and Cover: Numbers to 6 is an engaging and hands-on game that will challenge students to use their developing fine motor skills and knowledge of the numbers 1-6. This game is suitable for individuals or small groups. Students will take turns rolling a die. Once they identify the number rolled, they will use tweezers to cover the matching numeral on their game board with a pom pom. Using tweezers allows students to practise their pincer grip, which is essential for tasks like writing and drawing. Students will then trace the numeral on their recording slip. Tracing numbers allows students to practise number formation whilst holding a pencil correctly. This helps to strengthen the small muscles in their fingers and hands. Additionally, tracing numbers requires children to demonstrate focus and control as they follow the lines to form numbers. The winner is the first student to trace all numbers on their recording slip. Printing the game boards on thick card or placing is write and wipe sleeves is recommended for longevity. It’s time to get rolling.
