Using the printable dice, students will roll and read the word created (one dice onset, one dice rime).

If they create a real word with a matching picture on the game board, they cover it with a counter.

This game can be played as a single player, with a partner, or in a group.

We suggest printing the dice onto two different colours so that the students can easily distinguish them.

There is a game board available for each of the five short vowel sounds, and an answer key at the bottom of each.
