This fun activity has been designed to accompany a whole class reading of the picture book Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. These no-prep worksheets will allow you to check your students’ understanding of the key elements of the story, including the characters, setting and plot.

To complete the task, students will complete a story map of the text. We have included multiple options to suit the needs of your class, including:

1. Cut and paste pictures into the correct boxes.
2. Draw pictures in the boxes.
3. Draw and label pictures in the boxes.

This task is perfect for independent work, a small group task, scribing, evidence for assessment or for a relief folder.

Early Years and Foundation students may benefit from having this resource enlarged to A3 to provide more space for drawing and writing.
