Sentence Spy is an engaging activity that will challenge your students to join parts of a sentence using a conjunction to create a compound sentence. Students will need to determine what parts of the sentence belong with one another and decide what conjunction is best suited. To make these decisions, students will need to consider what the sentence is about and ensure that the subject remains consistent.   Sentence Spy is a two-part worksheet. First, students will need to use four different colours to match the parts of the sentence. Then, they will need to write the compound sentence on the lines provided.   With three different worksheets included, students can have the opportunity to complete Sentence Spy on more than one occasion and therefore gain confidence with the format. This resource is adaptable to various classroom situations and could be used during a lesson, a small group rotation, as evidence for assessment, a morning activity or stored in a relief folder.
