Our Sequence That Story activity is the perfect choice to help your students build an understanding of the structure of narrative texts.
To complete this task, students will define each part of a narrative, including the orientation, complication, sequence of events and resolution, before reading a narrative text and recording its main parts in order.
Prior to completing this task, we recommend either taking your students to the library, having a collection of picture books in class or allowing students to refer to texts they have previously read.
We have included multiple versions of this task to suit the needs of your class.
This resource has been designed to align with our Year 3 Narrative Writing UNIT PLAN and is also suitable for use with Year 2 students.
