Description

Students answer questions correctly to collect treasure from the bottom of the ocean floor. Each piece of treasure is worth different amounts of points depending on its size and colour. With each correct answer, students haul up more treasure - who will collect the most by the end of the game?

In this version, students practise skip counting by 3s to identify number sequences. They’ll build fluency with multiples of 3 while improving number pattern recognition and developing a solid foundation for multiplication. The combination of counting and collecting keeps learners engaged from start to finish!

This game is ideal for whole-class revision, maths rotations, or individual fluency practise using the QR code. It’s a great way to reinforce skip counting strategies in Foundation to Year 3 classrooms.

Key Learning Outcomes:

  • ✅ Skip count by 3s to identify number patterns
  • ✅ Recognise and complete number sequences involving multiples of 3

  • ✅ Engage in fun, risk-and-reward gameplay to reinforce fluency

How to Play:

  1. Students answer skip counting questions by identifying the next number in a sequence of 3s.

  3. Treasure varies by size and colour - sometimes, a mystery chest will appear!
  4. Incorrect answers cause the treasure to fall back into the sea.
  5. The player with the highest treasure total at the end wins the game!
