Description

Add a burst of fun to your probability unit with Snap! Probability Edition – a hands-on card game designed to help students connect real-world scenarios with key chance vocabulary. With 40 illustrated scenario cards and multiple vocabulary card templates included, this resource makes it easy to explore chance language through play. Whether you're reinforcing probability terms like “certain” and “impossible” or building connections between visuals and vocabulary, this game will quickly become a classroom favourite.

Snap! Probability Edition offers maximum flexibility. Students can play a traditional game of snap by matching picture and word cards, or use the cards for memory, sorting, group games or even independent practice. With multiple gameplay options and open-ended use, it’s perfect for maths centres, small group work, early finishers, or whole-class games that reinforce key learning outcomes in a fun and interactive way.

This resource includes 40 full-colour picture cards representing a wide variety of everyday chance scenarios – from flipping a coin to picking a coloured lolly from a jar. The matching vocabulary cards cover common probability terms such as “certain,” “likely,” “unlikely,” “even chance,” and “impossible.” Print and cut as many vocabulary cards as needed depending on your group size or the game format you choose. The open-ended design allows students to make multiple matches and reason through why certain words align with each scenario.

Use this resource as a standalone game or integrate it into a broader probability unit. Laminate the cards for durability and reuse, or provide them as part of a station rotation where students can sort, match or explain the connections between images and chance language. By combining visuals with discussion and play, you’ll help your students build a deep understanding of probability concepts while enjoying meaningful, low-prep learning.
