Description

Pack your bags and get ready for a mountain-sized challenge! In this digital game, students answer subtraction questions to climb their way to the top of a scenic mountain trail. With each correct answer, they hike a little further, progressing through changing environments like forests, cliffs, and snowy peaks.

The game can be played solo or as a team. When played with more than one character, all players work together to answer questions and help the group climb higher as a united team. The journey ends with a polaroid-style snapshot that shows how far they made it up the mountain, along with a final score.

In this version, students will be shown two subtraction equations and asked to choose the one that correctly represents a subtraction fact within combinations to 10. This helps reinforce early number facts and part-part-whole understanding. For example, they may be asked: “Which subtraction problem is correct?” with options like 9 - 4 = 5 or 9 - 6 = 4.

Students are encouraged to replay the game, aiming to reach the summit by answering all questions correctly. This creates a powerful learning opportunity around persistence, determination, and growth through repetition.
