Description
This worksheet set allows your students to practise creating rational number patterns involving square numbers.
Students must use their knowledge of number patterns and input/output tables to build hypothetical limestone pyramids. Using the pattern of bricks, they will calculate the number pattern rule, the number of bricks required, the area taken up by different sized pyramids, the time taken to build a pyramid and more.
Three differentiated worksheet options are included, focusing on a variety of cross-curricular skills. Use the worksheet best suited to your class and context.
Top Teacher Tip: Extend your fast finishers by asking them to build their own square number three-dimensional pyramid by making cube nets from cardstock!
