Students will sort picture cards according to the number of syllables in the word.

They then place the picture card on the correct rainbow (according to the number written in the cloud).

The rainbows are numbered for 1-4 syllables. There are 12 different picture cards available for each number of syllables, so a few children can work on the same number without doubling the pictures up.

You may even like to attach velcro dots to the picture cards and in the spaces on the rainbow to stop them sliding about.
