The ‘Array’zing Race!
Practise multiplication in this fun game where the aim is to colour the most boxes on the game board.
Number of Players: 2
Aim: To colour the greatest area
Rules: Cut out the Arrays Game Cards on the next page. Keep the blue cards in one pile and the purple cards in another. A player chooses a card from the blue pile and a card from the purple pile and draws an array according to what is indicated on the cards. The player should shade the inside of the rectangle and/or outline the rectangle and write the number sentence inside. The Multiplication Number Sentence sheet can be used to help students create their number sentences from their 2 cards. The player then places their cards back onto the pile, gives each pile a quick shuffle before the next player has a turn.
You could also play this game with dice if you do not want to use cards.
