Support your Year 5 students in their HASS Geography inquiry with The Flood: My Diary Entry activity.
Created to coincide with Year 5 Geography V9 Australian Curriculum, this activity will provide students with the opportunity to present the information they have learned about the effects of floods on a community in the form of a diary entry. It is recommended that students include the following facts within their diary entry to demonstrate their learning: what, when, where, who, causes, effects and mitigation strategies.
This activity sheet is for teachers who wish to have their students write on a generic diary entry template, rather than follow the inquiry unit’s prompt.
