This fun activity has been designed to accompany a whole class reading of the picture book The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson. These no-prep worksheets will allow you to check your students’ understanding of the key elements of the story, including the characters, setting and plot.

To complete the task, students will complete a story map of the text. We have included multiple options to suit the needs of your class, including:

1. Cut and paste pictures into the correct boxes.
2. Draw pictures in the boxes.
3. Draw and label pictures in the boxes.

Early Years and Foundation students may benefit from having this resource enlarged to A3 to provide more space for drawing and writing.
