This purposeful back to school activity has been designed to accompany a whole class reading of the picture book The Koala Who Could by Rachel Bright. These no-prep worksheets will allow you to check your students’ ability to make meaningful connections with the story based on their prior knowledge and text clues. These connections are so important because they enable students to make sense of what they are reading.
Students will use the Venn diagram template to draw pictures or write key words that describe the similarities and differences between themselves and Kevin the Koala, including personality attributes, thoughts, feelings and actions. To cater for the needs of your students, we have included blank and lined versions of this activity:
Younger students may benefit from having the templates enlarged to A3 for ample writing and drawing space.
