Our The Peasant Prince: Cause & Effect comprehension resource is based on the picture book, The Peasant Prince by Li Cunxin and provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the cause and effect relationship presented in the three main parts of the story, including Li’s life with his family in Qingdao, his time at the Beijing Dance Academy and his successful career in America and beyond.

To cater for the various needs of students in your class, we have included three versions of this resource:

• The Cause & Effect: Match Up! resources require students to match the jumbled causes and effects.
• The Cause & Effect: Choose It! resources require students to choose an effect that matches the given cause and justify their choice.
• The Cause & Effect: Write It! resources require students to write two effects that relate to the given cause.

While responses may differ, we have included answer pages with example answers!
