This purposeful back to school activity has been designed to accompany a whole class reading of the picture book The Pigeon Has to Go to School by Mo Willems. These no-prep worksheets provide the opportunity for your students to make meaningful connections with the text.

Students will sort true and false statements related to going to school. As each of the statements are based on information from the text, it is recommended to complete this activity after reading the story. This set of worksheets includes the following options:

1. Students will cut, sort and paste 10 true and false statements onto the table template (the template can also be used by students who would like to write a collection of their own true and false statements about going to school).
2. Students will cut and paste one true statement and one false statement, and draw matching pictures.
3. Students will write one true statement and one false statement, and draw matching pictures (24mm and 18mm line widths are included).

Younger students may benefit from having the templates enlarged to A3 for ample writing and drawing space.
