Understand the different process of rock formation with this hands-on Earth & Space Sciences activity.

Students will form different representations of rocks using chewy lollies through a number of processes that simulate those that naturally occur.

They will first create a sedimentary rock by pressing pieces of the chewy lollies together so that the individual layers can be seen.

Next they will use pressure and heat to create a metamorphic rock before simulating magma turning into igneous rock in a microwave (with adult assistance).
