Create a miniature island model with this craft for The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. This craft activity has students create their interpretation of the island from the descriptions of locations given in the novel. Students are tasked with including:

1. The Robot Graveyard
2. The Great Meadow
3. The Waterfall
4. The Mountain
5. The Forest
6. The Nest

 They will use two included templates for the mountain and waterfall to create three-dimensional models and base the rest of their island model around those templates. Students will need an additional piece of card for the base of their model as well scrap pieces of card for any other three-dimensional pieces they wish to create for their island. Once they have all the locations added to their map model, they will then create their map guide with a description and illustration of each before adding details of a significant event that occurred. This lapbook craft activity is featured in The Wild Robot Novel Study.
