Description

This book response task for The Wild Robot by Peter Brown has students making a lodge and filling it with the things they would need to survive. Students begin by outlining four basic needs of survival. One of those being, shelter. They will reflect on why Roz needed to build a lodge and then research three different types of shelters people can build out in the wilderness. They will then use the included template to create a paper lodge. They will make a base using a separate piece of card and fill it with items they would want to have on hand if they were enduring a cold winter. Print the template page on thick card for added durability when assembling the craft. This book response task is featured in The Wild Robot Novel Study.
