This purposeful activity has been designed to accompany a whole class reading of the picture book Thelma the Unicorn by Aaron Blabey. These no-prep vocabulary worksheets will allow your students to demonstrate their understanding of key vocabulary from the text.

We have included multiple options to suit the needs of your class, including:

1. Students draw pictures to represent the meaning of words from the text.
2. Students write sentences (or definitions) and draw pictures to represent the meaning of words from the text on 24mm lines.
3. Students write sentences (or definitions) and draw pictures to represent the meaning of words from the text on 18mm lines.
4. Students complete a cloze passage using vocabulary from the text.

Please note that we have also included blank templates to add other words from the text.

This task is perfect for a lesson, independent work, a small group task, scribing, evidence for assessment or for a relief folder!

Early Years and Foundation students may benefit from having this resource enlarged to A3 to provide more space for drawing and writing.
