Description
Celebrate the magic of Christmas with your students by creating your own storytelling slider to support the hilarious and silly story ‘There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Star’ by P. Crumble. In this craftivity, students will get to create their own ‘old lady’ and ‘slider strip’ which can be used to retell the story.Simply colour and decorate the old lady as well as the objects on the ‘slider strip’. Students may also like to use the blank strip to draw their own items that she swallowed. Cut and glue the strip together. Then, after cutting the lines on her tummy, thread the ‘slider’ through the old lady. As the various pictures go through the ’tummy window’, students will be able to retell the story. This is a great way to practise the oral retelling of a story and is guaranteed to have students giggling! |
