Threading Caterpillars
Description
Use this cute caterpillar-themed resource to boost the fine motor skills in your classroom.
Threading activities are such important fine motor activities for our young learners:
- They help build small muscle strength as students grasp different sized beads – especially pincer grips with smaller beads – great for pencil grip!
- They improve visual perceptual skills as students choose the beads they want to thread next.
- They improve hand eye coordination as they thread the bead onto the string.
- They also improve concentration and planning skills, as students plan and carry out the beading pattern they set out to complete.
Add these benefits to a super cute and engaging resource like our new threading caterpillars! Print and attach each caterpillar to a numbered leaf and encourage students to add the correct number of beads to each caterpillar.
You might also like to challenge students to create a repeating pattern with their beads at the same time.
