This resource provides students with the opportunity to apply the rounding strategy to solve multiplication problems involving money. They will refer to the eye-catching Toy Planet brochure page to answer questions about Polly’s purchases on the accompanying worksheets. Students will round each dollar amount up or down to the nearest ten before multiplying and either adding on or taking off the amount that was rounded at the end.

To assist students in completing the task, an example of how to round an amount up or down has been provided. The questions on each worksheet increase in complexity. For example:
