Description
This Understanding & Applying Decimals: Tenth & Hundredths Assessment evaluates students' ability to recognise, represent, compare, and apply decimals in a variety of contexts. Students will demonstrate their knowledge of place value up to hundredths, their ability to rename decimals in different forms, and their skill in interpreting decimals in real-world contexts such as money and measurements.
How to Complete:
- Students begin by shading bar models and decimal grids to represent specific decimal values. The final grid encourages creativity by asking students to create their own decimal representation.
- Students rename decimals in tenths and hundredths to demonstrate their understanding of decimal equivalence.
- Students label a number line with decimals, focusing on tenths and hundredths.
- Students compare pairs of decimals using the symbols >, <, =, including decimals presented as money and measurements.
- Students arrange a set of decimals in ascending order.
- Finally, students write how given decimal values (including money and measurements) would be said aloud.
