Slice and dice the vegetables to find their cross-sections with this engaging matching game!

To play, students draw three shape cross-section cards each and lay the vegetable cards face-down in the playing area. On their turn, they must flip over a vegetable card and see if they can create any of their cross-section cards by cutting that vegetable. If they can, they must ‘cut’ the vegetable card and then keep and record their pair. If not, they must draw another shape card. The first player to collect three pairs wins!

Top Teacher Tips:

1. Use the katana cards to ‘slice’ the vegetable cards, or use real-world recycled disposable cutlery. Alternatively, students could also mime cutting the vegetables using their hand as a knife.
2. To simplify the game, print the shape cards twice, as many of the shapes can be used on more than one vegetable.
3. If playing with only two players, print only the first ten vegetable and shape cards.
