Students write definitions for different visual elements, including angle, expression and salience. Your support students may wish to research this using a dictionary or digital device. Extension activities ask students to describe how using these elements can impact the reader and create meaning.

We’ve also included an additional template that can be applied to any classroom text you are using. Students must define each visual feature and then locate examples in the text of the feature being used, describing how it creates meaning.
