Welcome to My House Craft
Description
This fun craft is an interactive way for students to develop their oral language and fine motor skills.
Using a range of house parts and craft materials, students will build and decorate a house, which they will describe using the SCUMPS acronym. This can be done verbally with the teacher recording sheet or written on the SCUMPS recording slip. Some students may be capable of writing individual descriptive words on this sheet, or an adult could scribe them.

Please note that you will need to provide assorted craft materials for students to decorate their houses with, such as pop sticks and cotton wool for a chimney, paper clips for a roof, matchsticks for a window or fence, pom poms or buttons as a door handle, pipe cleaners as creeping vines and tissue paper to create texture or plants in the garden etc.
We recommend enlarging the backing templates to A3.
Once complete, the colourful houses can be used to create an adorable display under the Welcome to Our Street banner.
This resource is available in our basic fun font and all Australian state fonts.
Our SCUMPS Posters and SCUMPS Display may be useful resources to have displayed or on hand when completing this activity. They could also be displayed with the completed craft.
