Description

Start your engines! In this fast-paced digital game, students race around a colourful track by answering number questions focused on finding one more. With every correct answer, their car speeds ahead—but be careful! Incorrect answers slow them down and could cost them a spot on the winner’s podium.

Students will view a number between 0 and 20 and select the number that is one more. For example, if the number shown is 8, students must choose 9 from the four answer options. This supports foundational number sense, counting skills and early addition understanding, all within an engaging, interactive setting.

The goal? Be the first to zoom across the finish line and claim a spot on the podium!

Key Learning Outcomes:

  • ✅ Identify the number that is one more than a given number (0–20)
  • ✅ Strengthen counting and early addition strategies
  • ✅ Build confidence with number sequences and one-to-one correspondence
  • ✅ Develop fluency with numbers to 20
  • ✅ Participate in interactive, visual gameplay that reinforces number knowledge

How to Play:

  1. Students choose their character and begin the race around the track.
  2. A number between 0 and 20 is displayed, and students must select the number that is one more.
  3. A correct answer speeds up their car, pushing them closer to the finish line.
  4. An incorrect answer slows them down, giving others a chance to catch up!
  5. The race continues until all questions are completed and the winners are revealed on the podium.

Ideas for Classroom Use:

  • 💡 Use during early maths lessons to reinforce number sequence and “one more” knowledge
