Where is the Animal? Positional Language Activity

Description
This is a hands-on activity that will challenge your students to sort images of animals based on their position within the image.
Students will be exposed to a range of positional language, including in, out, on, behind, under, beside, above, between and in front as they sort the 36 task cards. In addition to detailed instructions, this purposeful activity includes a positional language mat and cards with images to reflect each word and an optional recording sheet.
Students can either sort the task cards under the positional language cards or use the language mat to assist them in writing the position of each animal on the recording sheet.
It is recommended that younger students complete the sort with an adult, allowing them to demonstrate their understanding orally and to provide justification for their preposition selection.Additional information
