Description
Get ready to roll! In this engaging digital game, students take turns rolling the dice and moving around a colourful game board made up of mini worlds inspired by other Digi-Games—like the ocean, race track, mountains, and more.
As they land on different spaces, students are shown two sticker collections and asked to decide which one has fewer. This game helps young learners compare quantities using visual representations and supports early number sense and mathematical language development.
The game continues until all questions have been answered. Players keep moving around the board as long as questions remain. At the end, the player with the highest total coin value wins!
Key Learning Outcomes:
- ✅ Identify which group has fewer objects
- ✅ Compare collections using visual reasoning
- ✅ Use mathematical language such as “more,” “less,” and “fewer”
- ✅ Strengthen one-to-one correspondence and counting fluency
- ✅ Engage in interactive, turn-based gameplay that supports foundational maths skills
How to Play:
- Students roll the dice and move their token across the themed game board.
- When they land on a space, they are shown two sticker collections and asked, “Which has less?”
- A correct answer allows them to collect the coin on that space—coin values vary based on colour and size.
- Occasionally, a special event may occur to add extra fun to the round.
- Players continue circling the board until all questions are completed. The player with the highest total coin value wins!
Ideas for Classroom Use:
- 💡 Use during Early Years–Foundation maths lessons focused on quantity and comparison
- 💡 Pair with hands-on counting and grouping tasks using real stickers or counters
- 💡 Add to numeracy rotations to support students developing comparison vocabulary
- 💡 Use as a calm warm-up activity that reinforces early number concepts through visuals
Top Teacher Tips:
- 💛 Let students personalise their experience by choosing from six characters before the game begins
- 💛 Select the number of players or teams at the start of the game to suit individual, paired, or group play
- 💛 Send the QR code home for students to play as a homework or revision task
Let’s Roll – Which Has Less? Counting & Comparing Stickers is the perfect way to build early number confidence while turning comparison practise into a fun, rewarding adventure around the game board!
