Description

Use this scavenger hunt task to explore how character positioning in images affects power relationships.

 

This download contains two versions of the scavenger hunt, allowing you to cater for your class and context.

 

Version One (p.1-4): Students create images based on written prompts. Two sets of four task cards are provided; use either set or mix both together. You can have students draw their responses or work in small groups to take photographs using a tablet or camera.

 

Version Two (p.5-13): Students find task cards with real-world images and write about how visual elements work together to show which character is in power and the nature of their relationship. This version includes two options for recording sheets and three sets of four task cards. Use any set of your choice- or why not hide all three sets and have students respond to the first of each number they find?

 

Colour and black-and-white printing options are included. You may wish to enlarge the recording sheets to A3 to allow for more space to write and draw.
