The number of mistakes from each text provides the digits for the homophone caller’s phone number. The code at the end will help your students to identify who was calling and what they wanted.

As there are five passages of writing, you might like your students to complete one of them per day for a week. This could be especially helpful if you plan to focus on homophones for the whole week. Alternatively, your students could complete them all during one session.
