Description
Bring fine motor skills and phonics together with our Hole Punch Letter Identification cards. This activity encourages students to strengthen their hand muscles and coordination while building confidence in letter recognition. By punching holes through matching letters, learners actively engage with the alphabet in both uppercase and lowercase forms.
Each card features a target letter in the centre surrounded by a variety of letters. Students must carefully search for the matching letters and use a hole punch to mark them. This multisensory approach not only reinforces visual discrimination but also develops muscle strength, control, and accuracy, making it a purposeful pre-writing and literacy task.
The resource is flexible for whole-class instruction, small group rotations, or independent fine motor practice. Teachers can introduce letters gradually to align with current phonics programs or provide a mix of cards for review. Available in both our basic fun font and Australian state fonts, this activity aligns with classroom handwriting expectations and supports consistency in letter recognition.
