This Alphabet Crown craft activity is an engaging resource designed to help young students develop their knowledge of the letters of the alphabet.

How to Complete

This hands-on activity reinforces students’ letter recognition and cutting skills. To complete the task, they will determine which of the images on the picture cutouts strip match the focus letter. Students will colour in the three matching images before cutting them out and gluing them to their crown template. Following this, they can cut out the crown and headband straps. We recommend that an adult assists students in assembling the crown and straps together. Once complete, students will be ready to proudly wear their alphabet crowns.

Additional Tips

1. Print the crown and headband strap templates on white or coloured card for durability.
2. Students can enhance and personalise their crowns with craft materials, such as feathers, pom-poms, stickers or sequins.

Extension Ideas

1. Use magazines, newspapers, or brochures to find additional images or letters that match the focus letter. Have students cut these out and add them to their crown’s headband strap.
2. Allow students to practise writing the focus letter along the headband strap.
3. Encourage students to explain the images on their crown, reinforcing their understanding of the focus letter.
