Description
Make number pattern practise more hands-on and collaborative with the Skip Counting Cards. This resource is a great way to help students recognise and extend skip counting sequences in an active and engaging way, perfect for whole-class games, small group work, or independent sorting tasks.
Students are given a set of number cards and work together to sort them into the correct skip counting sequences. This encourages not only skip counting fluency but also discussion, reasoning, and pattern recognition as they identify which numbers belong to which group. Patterns covered include skip counting by 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, and 10s.
These cards are flexible and can be used in a variety of ways - from whole-class interactive whiteboard games, to small group sorting challenges, or as a fast finisher task in numeracy rotations. Laminate the cards for durability and reuse, or add them to your maths tub for regular pattern practice throughout the term.
