Description

How would your students respond if they were told their next maths activity could have no wrong answers? If you are looking for open-ended ways to challenge and broaden your students’ mathematical thinking, then download this resource now!

Across each of the 20 task cards in this set, students are presented with four related but distinct shapes, numbers or patterns. Their challenge is identifying which options do not belong and applying mathematical reasoning to justify their choice. There are no right or wrong answers, but they must be able to explain their thinking.

Designed with two task cards per sheet. Simply print to thick A4 cardstock and cut!

The cards are also accompanied by a recording sheet that can be printed as a whole or half page, prompting students to explain their ideas. Each task card features a reference number, making the recording sheet responses easy to track.

These task cards are the perfect option for maths stations, or as an extension task.
