Subitising Race is a fun game that challenges students to identify and subitise number representations to 5.   Players will ‘race’ to fill their board as they identify numbers to 5. They will take turns with a partner or in small groups to select a card from the pile. Students will verbally respond to the prompt on the card and place a counter on their board in the relevant section.   This resource includes high and low colour options. Printing the game board and game cards on card is recommended for longevity. The game cards must be cut out before playing.   Please note that this game requires 15 counters for each player.   Some students may benefit from having access to visual aids, such as number lines, or physical manipulatives, such as ten frames or blocks to assist them.   Let the subitising race begin!
