Support your Year 2 students in their Physical Sciences: Investigating Sound unit of work with this low-prep, hands-on investigation.
Created to coincide with the Year 2 Physical Sciences Australian Curriculum, this activity will provide students with the opportunity to make connections between vibrations and sound as they investigate how the length or material of a ruler affects the sound it produces.
This resource includes templates for students to record an inquiry question, prediction, equipment, procedure, observations and concluding thoughts.
For more information on how to conduct this investigation, simply refer to Slides 26-30 of our Investigating Sound PowerPoint (included in the Physical Sciences Year 2 UNIT PLAN download).
