For a fun way to celebrate Harmony Day, play Hello Around the World Bingo!

Simply print out and cut up the Country Cards and the bingo cards, and you are ready to play.

The download includes 30 country cards with the country name, the main language spoken and translation of hello, 30 Bingo cards (2 per A4 page), and blank country cards and bingo cards for you to add to if you want to include other languages.

To play, each student receives a Bingo Card with nine different translations of Hello from countries worldwide. Cut the country cards, place them into a bowl, and draw out one at a time. For each card you draw, you can either read the translation of Hello or read out the country or the language only to make this game more challenging. The first student to get all their Hello’s marked off on their card yells Bingo and is the winner!

There is space on the bingo cards for the students to write the country that the Hello is from. This can be done before they start the game or whilst they are playing as you read it off the cards.

Students can research the languages, or they can use the Harmony Day Culture Puzzle activity to find out the country that the Hello is from prior to playing.

Print and place into reusable sleeves so that these can be used repeatedly. Students can use white board markers to write on the cards and coins or counters to play.

To help with printing and ink saving, print these bingo cards on orange paper for a great Harmony Day activity.
